Thailand is renowned for it's beautiful and interesting, not to mention numerous Temples or 'Wats' and Chedi. We have put together a Temple Trail for you to explore, learn and enjoy everything that these magnificient places have to offer, including the beautiful scenery that can be enjoyed at each of the 6 sites.
The Temple Trail begins at Doi Nok Strawberry Resort and takes you around a real variety of places, each quite unique from the last, with something different to discover at each one. The Temple Trail can be covered in a morning or afternoon, or you can take it all in at a more leisurely place and spend the day exploring the Temples, Chedi and Buddhism.
In Thailand, Buddhists Temples, or Wats, appear in almost every town and village and even in more rural locations. Attended to by monks, the Wat is a place of worship and community gathering. Colorful and exotic, the temple contains a shrine room housing an image of Buddha. Followers usually bow to the statue. Then, they may light a candle, burn some incense, or offer flowers. The entrance to the temple, facing east, is decorated with curtains and serpent-like ornaments. The top of the Wat is usually a towering pinnacle.
We covered the Trail in an afternoon and were astonished at the variety of buildings, paintings and stories each one told. There was something different at each place and the views from some of them were worth visiting purely for that!
